I can't believe the rate at which Arriva bus fares have been increasing, £14 for a weekly ticket which can only be used for limited travel around Durham District is crazy. An increase of £2.00 for a Family Ticket now costing £10.00.

Yes Paul I agree bus travel prices are accelerating at an alarmin rate. It cost me £1.90 to travel from Deerness Leisure Centre to Durham bus station 2 weeks ago. I beleive this was just before the new budget and price rise! I can remember paying around 80pence for the exact same journey around 1994. In 14 years the cost has more than doubled. If I hadn't been in a rush to meet friends and the weather had been better then I would have walked. I don't agree with these manic prices at all.

I'm sure the bus system claims they need more money due to cost of fuel increases, but I don't buy that. That was just an excuse.

Yes I agree. So why are there still old buses on the road..
Also When it hot outside that the buses have the heating on full, so to me that waste our taxs payers money
